چکیده

Resins for crown and bridge have been widely used as veneers on rnetal frames to provide restorations of anterior teeth because the reproducibility of the aesthetics appearances is relative}y easyi-6), The reason would be that their materials have good handling, such as an arbitrary working time and short setting time due to the light-curing system, and also have the advantage of comparatively low eost compared with porcelain restorations. However, it is well known that these materials cause a deterioration of the surface characteristics by water absorption or abrasion during elinical usage in the oral cavityT'8). Therefore, in order to take efficient measures against its deterioration, the paint-on resins, which were of a low viscosity due to applying them as a thin film on the surface and a light-activated polymerization type, have been produced9-ii). We have already reported that their toothbrush abrasion resistances were insignificantly different when compared with the eommercial resin for the crown and bridge usediO・i3・i4). Furthermore, effective painting layer or stability of optical properties and color were investigated from the standpoint of light transmittanceii'i2'i5). However, little is known of the effeet of water absorption on abrasion resistance of paint-on resins. The purpose in this study was to investigate the effect of water absorption on toothbrush abrasion and surface characteristics of ten resins for crown and bridge including the paint-on resins stored in distilled water at 37°C for 6 weeks, and to examine elinical application of the paint-on resins. The Combined Effect of Methyl- and Ethyl-Paraben on Lifespan and Preadult Development Period of Drosophila melanogaster (Diptera: Drosophilidae)

Parabens are widely used as preservative substances in foods, pharmaceuticals, industrial products, and cosmetics. But several studies have cautioned that parabens have estrogenic or endocrine-disrupting properties. Drosophila melanogaster is an ideal model in vivo to detect the toxic effects of chemistry. The study was designed to assess the potential additive toxic effects of methylparaben (M...

Effects of plane of nutrition of ewes in early and mid-pregnancy on performance of the offspring: female reproduction and male carcass characteristics.

This study investigated the effects of different planes of nutrition in early pregnancy (EP) and mid-pregnancy (MP) of crossbred ewes on carcass characteristics of male offspring and reproductive performance of female offspring. During EP (d 1 to 39 after synchronized mating) ewes were allocated 60% (low, L-EP), 100% (medium, M-EP), or 200% (high, H-EP) of their energy requirements for maintena...

Insulin sensitivity during pregnancy, lactation, and postweaning in primiparous gilts.

The objectives were to examine changes in the insulin response during pregnancy, lactation, and postweaning in an experiment involving 10 primiparous Landrace x Large White gilts. Gilts were catheterized at 50 d of pregnancy, and tests were conducted at approximately 59 d of pregnancy (midpregnancy; MP), 106 d of pregnancy (end of pregnancy; EP), 17 d of lactation (L), and 9 d after weaning (PW...

The effect of dietary protein and energy restriction on heat production and growth costs in the young rat.

1. The effect of dietary protein and energy restriction on heat production and growth costs has been examined in rats fed on a marginal (MP) or high (HP) protein diet, containing 9.2% or 22% respectively of the gross energy content as casein. Diets were given either ad lib. or at approximately 25, 50 or 75% of the ad lib. intake. 2. Heat production (kJ/kg body-weight (W)0.75 per d) was increase...
